Power Manager Battery Control

A Duke Energy battery control option where eligible batteries can be temporarily adjusted during grid events in exchange for monthly bill credits.

Power Manager Battery Control is Duke Energy’s battery demand-response option for eligible customers in the Duke Energy Progress service area. Duke’s program page says a signal may be sent to enrolled batteries to temporarily adjust settings such as charge, discharge, hold state of charge, return to normal operations, change mode, or store energy.

The official Duke Energy page says participants receive monthly bill credits for continued participation and that battery control events may occur during the year. See Duke Energy’s Power Manager Battery Control page for current terms.

Duke Energy Carolinas uses the EnergyWise Home branding for a similar battery control concept. If you are comparing quotes, ask your installer which Duke utility serves the address and which battery control program applies.

Do not assume a specific monthly credit until Duke confirms the program, battery model, and enrollment details for your account.

Common questions

Is Power Manager Battery Control the same as PowerPair?
No. PowerPair is a one-time solar-plus-battery installation incentive. Power Manager Battery Control is a battery control program that can provide monthly bill credits when program requirements are met.
Will Duke Energy control my battery all the time?
Duke describes temporary control events, not full-time control. Check the current program terms for event frequency, opt-out rules, and backup reserve settings.
